Fear Isn’t the Enemy. Uncertainty Is.

Let’s Talk About Fear (Because Avoiding It Doesn’t Make It Go Away)!

I know October is all about spooky season. But for entrepreneurs? The fear is real year-round, and this season, it's coming from all directions.

Let’s be honest about what it looks like right now to run a business, lead a team, or even just keep going when the ground keeps shifting beneath us.

Founders in our community have been naming it, and I want to name it too:

  • The fear of losing access to capital, with rising interest rates and businesses tightening their budgets.

  • The fear of being deprioritized, especially for founders of color, as DEI efforts get scaled back or scrapped altogether.

  • The fear of growing too fast or too slow, getting stuck in analysis paralysis, or scaling before you’re truly ready.

  • The fear of burnout, especially from having to constantly pivot, react, and stay "on" without any room to reset.

  • And the big one: fear of uncertainty itself, the anxiety that comes from not knowing what's coming next and not having a solid plan for how to meet it.

These are not imagined fears. They’re real. They’re heavy. And they’re valid. But here’s what I’ve learned over decades of navigating business, markets, and big transitions:

Fear loses power when you have a plan. Even a loose one. Even one that leaves room for the unknown. Planning doesn’t fix everything, but it does remind you that you’re not powerless.

At Wocstar, we believe in preparing, not panicking. So we’re working on something special behind the scenes—a tool designed to help you do exactly that.

We’re calling it the Dream and Scheme Like a Wocstar™ planner. It’s built for moments just like this! To help you organize your ideas, align your vision, and feel steady when everything else feels shaky.

It’s not officially launching yet, but I wanted you to be the first to know: we’ve got you covered. Sign up for the pre-launch here.

Until then, I want to remind you. You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep moving with intention. Lean into your community. Speak your fear out loud. And start sketching the future you want, one clear step at a time!

Let’s keep building and stay fabulous!
